In a Sinte catalogue published by the Rops' Museum of Namur, the Belgian art critic Claude Lorent wrote :
" By selecting black, Sinte has chosen to abstinence. He fully understands the power of brightness, but refuses to utilize it. In any case, the question is to try to please or to demonstrate the masterliness. To reach the magics of the darkness, he uses some of his own rituals that are something like mysticism.

The half-light is to be respected above all as the law of silence. In this darkness, one can only see with one's mind which guides us to the wisdom, restraint and humility. The black color is adorned with unexpected shades rich and sober at the same time continually carrying its deadly work back to tragedy. »
